Rosa – a name that conjures up a picture of the beauty of an open flower, and literally means ‘pink rose’. It was not such a rosy picture though for Rosa Balistreri, an Italian singer and musician, that grew up in the sorrow and captivity of an impoverished woman in the 1950s living in Sicily, Southern Italy. Rosa’s experience drove her to flee her family home in her early 20s and seek out a life beyond the violence and ignorance of her rural upbringing. Some say that it was her harsh upbringing that charged her deep voice with a distinct melancholy that made her a Sicilian icon of the 20th century.

Speaking of icons - our Rosa Piccola crossbody could be exactly that. Playing on the current trend of small crossbody bags, this beautifully gathered leather pouch X wallet with intricately crafted, curved closure could become a favourite wandering accessory. Whether travelling by bus or train, visiting museums or monuments, this petite pouch with removable straps and wristlet, will easily travel wherever you go.

Our leather is the best quality full grain cow hide and is sourced from Australia and Europe. It is is custom tanned to our specifications using Italian techniques and products.

Our bags are designed by us in Sydney, Australia and shipped from our warehouse and flagship store in Sutherland in the south of Sydney. Read our story

Our leather is tanned and our bags manufactured in a family run factory in Pakistan. They are very proud of their skill with leather which has been passed down through generations!

Notes on colour variants.

  • Our Azzurra full grain leather is a multi-dimensional blue/green colour. The depths and hues of the blue/green colour on your bag will depend on which parts of the hide are used to create the panels that will be used to craft your bag - meaning every bag is unique. Our Azzurra Colour represents the multi-dimensional blue and green shades of the sea, particularly in the Amalfi Coast areas of Capri and Ischia in Italy...forever our muse.
  • Our Grigio Alpino full grain leather is a light grey colour. Grigio Alpino translates to “Alpine Grey”, and the colour reflects this name. It is a very light shade of grey and although it will reflect slight variations in different lighting conditions, the colour will not reflect that of white or cream.

We have endeavoured to provide web images of our leather products that closely match their actual colours but due to the differing colour settings of computer, phone and tablet displays, we cannot guarantee that the colour you see on your screen will exactly match what you receive.

Our bags are crafted with full grain leather (the best quality and strongest type of leather) and in their most natural state it is best to protect the leather using one of the many leather care products on the market. We like leather conditioner as it protects and conditions the leather. We have found creams and leather rubs work much better on our leather, rather than sprays. More about leather care.

You may find that good old fashioned warm water on a damp cloth and a gentle rub will get rid of any marks! And be sure to let it air dry! There are also some great leather cleaning products you can purchase and we have had some success cleaning off marks with an “authentic art eraser”. Pressing the art eraser over and over onto the marks sometimes removes them completely!
